Week 6 - There's More to The Story!

There's More to The Story!  Today we hear about Rahab, a prostitute who lives and "worked" in the walls of Jericho that played a pivotal role in the people of Israel overthrowing the city.  Plus, she's mentioned in the lineage of Jesus!  Amazing story, so listen in:

 Week 6 - Sunday Preview!

This week we're looking at Joshua and how he took over the leadership reigns from Moses and brought the people into the Promised Land.  It wasn't a cake walk - they had to defeat 7 tribes/nations that were already there!  Lots of challenging questions about the nature of God throughout these stories - nonetheless, God kept working the Upper Story to bring people in their Lower Story into the land that God had promised them 600 years before through Abraham.  Listen in to the Sunday Preview!

Week 5 - There's More to The Story!

Greetings!  And - there's more to the story of Moses!  On page 88 of your The Story book you'll read how God led Moses up Mount Nebo, showed him the entire Promised Land, and then said, "I have let you see it with your eyes, but you're not going over there."  What a disappointment for Moses!  And yet - listen to the video and you'll see how God sometimes works in the Bible - a 6 phase process that we see more than once.  Here's the video:

 Week 4 - There's More to The Story!

Today we talk about the 10 Commandments that God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai - God decided to work with a people - God's people - rather than through a person; Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc.  And the 10 Commandments were given as a blessing for how best to live their (and our) lives.  Listen in:

 Week 4 - Sunday Preview!    

We're on week 4 - chapter 4 - and now we enter into the time when the people of Israel were in bondage and captivity under the Egyptians, with whom they had lived in harmony for about 400 years!  All of a sudden the tables are turned as there arose a new king over Egypt to whom Joseph meant nothing!  A dramatic shift.  But Moses was called out of the burning bush - at 80 years old! - to bring God's people out of bondage.  Listen in to the Sunday Preview!
